DEN NYE BOKA Tr\u00e5dar fr\u00e5 fortida<\/em>\u00a0handlar ikkje berre om korleis klede og sengeklede s\u00e5g ut \u2013 om dei t\u00f8ystykka ein skjulte kroppen med, var glatte, matte, lodne og blanke, grove, gr\u00f8ne, bl\u00e5 eller gr\u00e5.<\/p>\n

Boka handlar ogs\u00e5 om det krevjande tekstilarbeidet med n\u00f8ye utrekningar, stor skaparglede og verkande armar og ikkje minst kva som l\u00e5g bak vala av tekstilar.<\/p>\n

I denne historia spelar kvinnene og arbeidet deira hovudrolla ettersom tekstilar f\u00f8rst og fremst har vore eit feminint arbeidsfelt.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tekstilar kan utgjere skiljet mellom liv og daude, mellom \u00e5 h\u00f8yre til eller st\u00e5 utanfor. Ved \u00e5 unders\u00f8kje desse tr\u00e5dane vil eg pr\u00f8ve \u00e5 komme inn p\u00e5 huda til menneske som levde f\u00f8r, unders\u00f8kje kva dei hadde p\u00e5 seg og rundt seg og pr\u00f8ve \u00e5 lese noko om samtida deira ut fr\u00e5 det<\/em>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Med utgangspunkt i arkeologiske funn, dokument, foto og gjenstandar tar \u00c5sa Elstad for seg tekstilbruk i Nord-Noreg gjennom tusen \u00e5r.<\/p>\n

Sj\u00f8lv om desse eksempla er fr\u00e5 den nordlegaste landsdelen, er sp\u00f8rsm\u00e5la som blir tatt opp, allmenne.<\/p>\n

Tekstilane er jo knytt til mange sider ved norsk historie, som arbeidsdeling, kj\u00f8nnsskilje, \u00f8konomiske og sosiale forhold og system, ressursar, etnisitet og ideologiar.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kvart kapittel i boka har ei oppskrift, ei praktisk \u00f8ving for den som vil g\u00e5 i spora til tekstilhandverkarar som har levd f\u00f8r oss.<\/p>\n
