G\u00e5rsdagens lange TV-overf\u00f8ring av Nobelpris-tildelinga i litteratur til Jon Fosse var ogs\u00e5 ei gledeleg historisk hending for nynorsksaka. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Dagen derp\u00e5 kan det passe med eit oversyn over statusen til m\u00e5lforma i dag.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Statistikken syner at bruken av m\u00e5lforma i skulekretsar og enkeltskular har g\u00e5tt sakte nedover i fleire \u00e5r. Ogs\u00e5 litt i tradisjonelle nynorskdistrikt, diverre.<\/p>\n

At denne utviklinga skal snu br\u00e5tt er nok for mykje \u00e5 venta – sj\u00f8l med flotte Fosse p\u00e5 laget.<\/p>\n

Men nynorsk blir faktisk brukt av omtrent ti prosent av dei som skriv norsk i Noreg. Og ei \u00f8kt interesse som f\u00f8lgje av tildelinga, b\u00e5de p\u00e5 kort- og p\u00e5 lengre sikt, b\u00f8r det vere grunn til \u00e5 h\u00e5pe p\u00e5.<\/p>\n

Ved denne historiske hendinga m\u00e5 vi sj\u00f8lvsagt ein tur innom «nynorskens far», Ivar Aasen. Her er essensen i ein artikkel om han p\u00e5 nettsida Nynorsk.no: <\/strong><\/p>\n

D\u00e5 Ivar Aasen (1813\u20131896) vaks opp i \u00d8rsta og Volda p\u00e5 Sunnm\u00f8re tidleg p\u00e5 1800-talet, hadde ikkje Noreg eit eige skriftspr\u00e5k. Dansk dominerte, og slik hadde det vore i fleire hundre \u00e5r. Fr\u00e5 han var 29 \u00e5r i 1842, arbeidde Ivar Aasen p\u00e5 heiltid for at ogs\u00e5 nordmenn skulle f\u00e5 sitt eige skriftspr\u00e5k.<\/em><\/p>\n

Dei fleste skriftspr\u00e5k i verda tek anten utgangspunkt i \u00e9in dialekt i eitt omr\u00e5de, eller pr\u00f8ver \u00e5 finne fellestrekk mellom fleire dialektar. Ivar Aasen meinte det siste var mest demokratisk. Han tok utgangspunkt i at folk flest skulle kunne skrive n\u00e6rmast mogleg f\u00f8rstespr\u00e5ket sitt, slik at<\/em> ein slapp \u00e5 g\u00e5 omvegen om dansk.<\/em><\/p>\n

Norsk kultur har vore styrt fr\u00e5 fleire stader i Noreg, ikkje fr\u00e5 eitt kultursentrum. B\u00e5de kunsten, ideane og pengane har kome fr\u00e5 fleire delar av landet. Aasen arbeidde vidare i denne tradisjonen. Han studerte talespr\u00e5ket til folk i Noreg, og kom fram til det skriftspr\u00e5ket vi i dag kallar nynorsk.<\/em><\/p>\n

Arbeidet til Ivar Aasen var vitskapleg. Spr\u00e5kprofessor Tove Bull kallar Aasen den st\u00f8rste norske spr\u00e5kforskaren og grunnleggjaren av den moderne dialektvitskapen i Noreg. Aasen granska dei norske bygdedialektane fr\u00e5 heile landet n\u00f8ye og leitte etter orden, system, samanheng og ulikskapar. Men det var ikkje berre talem\u00e5la Aasen s\u00e5g p\u00e5; han samla inn eventyr og segner, merkte seg klesdrakter og verem\u00e5tar og dokumenterte norske ordtak og norsk namneskikk.<\/em><\/p>\n

M\u00e5let om eit norsk skriftspr\u00e5k f\u00f8rte Ivar Aasen ut p\u00e5 reiser gjennom landet fr\u00e5 Lindesnes i s\u00f8r til Troms\u00f8 i nord. <\/em><\/p>\n

Til saman reiste han like langt som ein biltur fr\u00e5 \u00d8rsta til Cape Town og tilbake. Det gjorde han til ein av dei personane som kjende Noreg best p\u00e5 1800-talet.<\/em><\/p>\n
