Internett-revolusjonen som startet for 20-30 \u00e5r siden har snudd opp ned p\u00e5 det meste. Alt burde ligge til rette for \u00e5 bygge opp lokale h\u00f8yteknologiske milj\u00f8, men det er det omvendte som skjer. Og ingen lokalt bryr seg.<\/p>\n

Vi driver b\u00e5de utvikling og drift herfra. Og vi holder oss rimelig oppdatert faglig fordi verden er blitt s\u00e5 mye mindre via nett, desssuten er vi like nysgjerrige som f\u00f8r. Men fagfeltet har blitt s\u00e5 omfattende at man har m\u00e5ttet spesialisere seg for flere \u00e5r siden for \u00e5 holde f\u00f8lge.<\/p>\n

Et eksempel p\u00e5 internasjonaliseringen er v\u00e5r egen Linux-baserte webserver med alle portaler og kunder. Den st\u00e5r i Tyskland, men vi har satt den opp og drifter den herfra.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Da v\u00e5r gamle server totalkollapset for et par \u00e5r siden mens jeg var ei helg p\u00e5 Vega, trengtes det tyngre kunnskap. S\u00e5 jeg surfet rundt etter ekspertise i USA, og fant et konsulentselskap som kunne g\u00e5 dypt ned i Linux-servere.<\/p>\n

Vi betalte for noen konsulenttimer og fikk fikset serveren til neste dag uten \u00e5 reinstallere noe. Alt ble ordnet via vanlig mobilnett fra Vega.<\/p>\n

N\u00e5 har vi en nyere server, ogs\u00e5 i Tyskland, den har g\u00e5tt uten en eneste stopp i over et \u00e5r.<\/p>\n

V\u00e5re portaler har i mange \u00e5r kj\u00f8rt med et malsystem fra et lite firma i Britsh Columbia, og vi har flere ganger f\u00e5tt hjelp til forbedringer fra dem.<\/p>\n

Ogs\u00e5 andre standardmoduler vi bruker kommer fra sm\u00e5 leverand\u00f8rer verden over. Men de unike nyhetsmodulene har vi utviklet selv.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nylig kj\u00f8pte vi flere komplette mikrodatamaskiner fra Kina p\u00e5 st\u00f8rrelse med et kredittkort for rundt 50 kr pr stk. De kan programmeres og brukes til bl.a. datainnsamling, styring og overv\u00e5king,<\/p>\n

Og trenger vi avanserte l\u00f8sninger, s\u00e5 finner vi fort hjelp i tunge utviklingsmilj\u00f8 p\u00e5 nett.<\/p>\n

S\u00e5 til yngre talenter i dag: Ikke brenn inne foran spillskjermen, kom dere ut og ta utdanning! Vi hadde ikke slikt tilgjengelig da vi studerte, vi m\u00e5tte utvikle spillprogrammer selv – og l\u00e6rte en masse av det.<\/p>\n

Selvstudium er greit n\u00e5r man m\u00e5, men verdien av et godt faglig skolemilj\u00f8 der man har full fokus kan ikke undervurderes. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Og f\u00e5 gjerne med litt praksis; altfor mange tekniske produkter er utviklet av noen som ikke skj\u00f8nner milj\u00f8et det skal brukes i.<\/p>\n
