(Republisert 21.03.22) <span class=\"i_skrift_stor\">(Leserbrev) <strong>Det sterkeste argumentet for at Vestby skal f\u00e5 bystatus ligger vel i navnet. For Son kan det psykologisk bety mye \u00e5 f\u00e5 bystatus, ikke minst som del i en kommende storkommune. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"i_skrift_stor\">Vestby vil for alltid ligge p\u00e5 &laquo;Pr\u00e6rien&raquo;, uten at det er noe galt med det. Men by blir det aldri. \u00c5 bruke innbyggernes tilh\u00f8righet til administrasjonssenteret Vestby som et argument, er patetisk og uvirkelig.<\/span><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<span class=\"i_skrift_stor\">Selv ikke r\u00e5dmannens spesialr\u00e5dgiver Roald Haugberg kommer unna det faktum at Son har en lang historie som ladested og egen kommune. Og en havn kommunen rangerer som s\u00e5 viktig for seg at de i dokumentene sine kaller den <strong><em>Vestby havn<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"i_skrift_stor\">Vestby er en fragmentert kommune hvor tilh\u00f8righeten ligger til lokalsamfunnene, ikke til Vestby som kommune. Hvitsten, Garder, H\u00f8len og Son har en flott lokal tilh\u00f8righet, men ikke til Vestby sentrum og boligfeltene omkring. Hvor innbyggerne der har sin tilh\u00f8righet, vet jeg ikke. Mange er innflyttere og har bevart tilh\u00f8righeten til sine tidligere hjemsteder.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"i_skrift_stor\">Store lageranlegg og kj\u00f8pesenter inneklemt mellom E6 og jernbanen er og blir s\u00e5 langt fra by du kan komme. Vestbys eneste hotell er forlengst omgjort til asylmottak.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Haugberg trekker<\/strong> (LM 09.09.12)<strong> ogs\u00e5 fram Vestbys &laquo;\u00f8kende betydning som kollektivknutepunkt etter hvert som Follobanen og Intercitytriangelet gjennomf\u00f8res&raquo;. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"i_skrift_stor\">Meg bekjent stopper praktisk talt alle \u201dVestby tog\u201d ogs\u00e5 p\u00e5 Sonsveien. I s\u00e5 m\u00e5te uavgjort. Derimot har Son ruteb\u00e5t p\u00e5 sommeren i helgene.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"i_skrift_stor\">Ved en framtidig sammensl\u00e5ing av kommuner, vil uansett Vestby opph\u00f8re som kommune. Eller tror Haugberg at Moss eller \u00c5s vil komme under Vestby? Mye taler for at Vestby blir delt p\u00e5 minst to storkommuner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><u><strong>HANS CHR.
