Gamle Folkets Hus i Moss. Her begynner historien som mitt k\u00e5seri handler om.<\/em><\/p>\n

(Republisert 30.04.24) Jeg er p\u00e5 handletur i Moss – og har god tid. Beina styrer meg, som s\u00e5 ofte f\u00f8r, ned til det gamle bygningsmilj\u00f8et i M\u00f8llebyen. I enden, n\u00e6r dagens h\u00f8yreiste m\u00f8lleanlegg, st\u00e5r jeg ved det gamle og godt bevarte Folkets Hus. En dag i mars i 1968 banket jeg p\u00e5 d\u00f8ra der,\u00a0 for \u00e5 tilby mine journalistiske ambisjoner til Moss Dagblad.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"I VESKA HADDE JEG attest fra min praktikanttid i Helgeland Arbeiderblad heime i Mosj\u00f8en. Pluss dokumentasjon for p\u00e5begynt brevkurs i journalistikk.<\/p>\n

En tid som fabrikkarbeider ved dav\u00e6rende Trio-Ving i Moss (som blant annet laget lengdel\u00f8pssk\u00f8yter) kunne jeg ogs\u00e5 vise til.<\/p>\n

GREIT NOK – i en dagsavis som var godt forankret i den lokale arbeider- og fagbevegelse.<\/p>\n

Jeg kom til en redaksjon der ambisjonene nok var et hakk st\u00f8rre enn bemanningen, for \u00e5 si det s\u00e5nn. Og Son og Vestby generelt var et s\u00e6rskilt satsingsomr\u00e5de, viste det seg.<\/strong><\/p>\n

S\u00e5 det var bare \u00e5 stemple inn neste dag, for \u00e5 pl\u00f8ye gjennom kommunale dokumenter fra Vestby! Ikke lenge etter debuterte jeg som referent i Vestby kommunestyre, der ordf\u00f8reren da som n\u00e5 hette Ludvigsen og var fra Arbeiderpartiet.<\/p>\n

I APRIL SA VI FARVEL til de gamle lokalene – og flyttet inn i nye Folkets Hus<\/em> borte ved Kirkeparken. Der ble jeg «fast ekstrahjelp» – fortsatt p\u00e5 full tid. Helt til jeg fikk tilbud om et \u00e5rsvikariat i Horten-avisa Gjengangeren, fram til sommeren 1969.<\/p>\n

Og rosinen i p\u00f8lsa: Jeg kunne komme tilbake til Moss Dagblad; der ville det bli en fast stilling ledig i redaksjonen. Den fikk jeg, hvis jeg ville!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Men det h\u00f8rer med at jeg ogs\u00e5 kunne f\u00e5tt en en fast stilling i Horten. Han jeg vikarierte for hadde nemlig – etter et \u00e5r p\u00e5 journalistlinja ved Skjeberg folkeh\u00f8gskole – kapret en topp infojobb i en landsdekkende organisasjon med kontor i Oslo.<\/p>\n

S\u00c5NN VAR DET dengang, dere. Fra midt p\u00e5 1960-tallet og til litt utp\u00e5 70-tallet. Hadde du evner, vilje og muligheter til \u00e5 st\u00e5 p\u00e5, s\u00e5 kunne veien v\u00e6re kort til starten p\u00e5 en fin yrkeskarriere.<\/p>\n

Men f\u00f8rst og fremst: Bare det \u00e5 f\u00e5 seg en jobb for kortere eller lengre tid, for det som gjerne ble kalt moneymaking<\/em>, var lett match!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

MANGE FAG hadde stor mangel p\u00e5 arbeidskraft. Deler av industrien m\u00e5tte hente sv\u00e6rt tiltrengt arbeidskraft der den var \u00e5 finne – blant annet i Pakistan. Det kom b\u00e5tlaster med arbeidstrengende menn, mange for \u00e5 jobbe p\u00e5 Moss Glassverk.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Selv tok jeg toget fra Oslo til Moss en tidlig v\u00e5rdag i 1967. To timer etter at jeg gikk av toget, s\u00e5 hadde jeg f\u00e5tt jobb p\u00e5 Trio-Ving. Og hybel fulgte med.<\/strong><\/p>\n
